I only installed this app hoping to find a way how I can use this app for our website but there is no trial to find out and you have to pay right away to use the app. However, on the back end the app installed various code to my theme without me using the app. As a result and because of their permissions to be able to change pages, some of my pages have been completely removed of text.
Uninstalling the app and will never use it again. Suggest PageFly app instead.

I was looking at your account, and I have a few things that I would like to clarify.
1 - We offer 10 days of free trial on all our plans. When you select the trial, Shopify will proceed with the authorisation of the upcoming/recurring monthly charges. This happens when you select the plan to trial. That doesn't mean you will be charged right away. You can uninstall the app before the 10-day free trial period to cancel.
2 - Any app that is installed will add some code to the theme to ensure it functions correctly. The same happens with Shogun. When you install the app, Shogun adds minimal code to ensure you can create or edit pages. This is normal behavior. However, you can always remove the code using our detailed guide if you are not looking to use the app.
I see you imported 2 pages to us, and you will see the Shogun code in the theme.
3 - I am not able to locate any support conversation under your email address about these issues. Our team is more than happy to assist you if you have any doubts or questions. I see you refer to some of your pages having issues due to Shogun where the text is removed. If you could provide the example pages along with the screenshot of what text is removed, our team will be happy to check. BTW, I want to let you know that installing Shogun doesn't cause such issues, but we can only check when we have an example.

Don’t even deserve 1 star uninstalled this after the free trial and still charge me

I am sorry to hear that you feel you were charged after the free trial.
I would like to share some details about this, even though it looks like my colleague from the support team has already explained this.
You installed Shogun back in April 26, 2024. We offer 10 days of free trial and if the app is not uninstalled the monthly charges start automatically.
Our app wasn never uninstalled. It looks like you decided to close your store with Shopify on July 14, 2024. While the store was closed, the app was never uninstalled. Shopify suggests uninstalling any apps with monthly recurring charges to ensure you are not charged in the future. This is because if you reopen your store, the monthly charges for apps with recurring monthly payments will start automatically.
You reopened you store again on February 8, 2025 and when the store was reopened you were charged under normal behavior for how app charges work with the fact that the app is installed and active. The billing cycles are controlled by Shopify.
You uninstalled the app on February 8, 2025, which canceled the subscription and you reached out to our support team yesterday, March 13, 2025. This is when our team explained the charges and as an exception, processed a refund for the 2 charges you highlighted.
This is expected behavior for app charges and how billing cycles work when you close/pause and then reopen the store without uninstalling the apps with recurring monthly charges.

It is very bad to use. After uninstalling it, it added a bunch of unnecessary template files to my website, which I cannot delete.

While we appreciate the feedback, I want to let you know that I found no support interaction about this. If you have any questions or doubts about the same our support team would have answered them and also guided you in the right direction for how to remove Shogun code.
Every app or a page builder app will require some additions to the theme in order for the app and the pages or the content to function. Shogun adds minimal files or code and that is to ensure your pages continue to work when the app is uninstalled, this is expected behavior. But, you can always follow the steps to remove the code without causing any issues.
As suggested, I don't see any support interaction from your end. You installed the app 6 days ago and uninstalled.
However, please feel free to write to us at support@getshogun.com or reply to my email and we can help guide you on how to remove the code from your store.

You have to pay $250 a month to edit product pages... what a rip off.

I was trying to locate a support conversation you had with our team, but I wasn't able to locate one. Please correct me if I am wrong.
You don't have to pay $250 a month to edit product pages. The ability to edit product pages is available on all our plans, including the $39 a month plan. I am not sure where you read that, but that clearly looks like some sort of misunderstanding.
I see you installed our app on March 12, 2025 and did not even select a plan to start the trial to test the app. You uninstalled the app a day later. However, if you had any doubts about the plans or what features they offer you can always reach out to our support team. Our team is always available and happy to clear any confusion or doubts you may have.
You have uninstalled the app, but if you want to try it again with the $39 a month plan and check if you are able to edit product pages or not please do let us know.

Near impossible to remove their code from your site if you don't want to use it. interface is much more clunky than they'd have you believe. Don't recommend.

It looks like my colleagues tried to help with this via email and have requested some help from your end. We need to collab access code to send the collab access request so we can check your theme files and help remove the code.
I want to let you know that when you uninstall our app, the code remains in the theme to ensure your pages that you edited and published with Shogun continue to work live. However, if you are not looking to use the app, we recommend reverting any imported pages before you uninstall to ensure they work.
I see you had 19 pages in Shogun and simply deleting the code would cause issue where the pages may lose the CSS or the formatting. Having said that, our team provided with the detailed instructions on how to remove the code, and have even offered to help further by deleting the code for you.
We request you check the email thread and help us with the collaborator access code so we can send the request and check the theme files for you.
I am not sure what felt clunky as I don't see any other support thread about the same. if you were facing an issue you could have shared the feedback with our team and we would have been happy to assist you. I do see you initially installed our app on April 13, 2020 and then reinstalled this month.

Terrible!! Embedded codes on my entire website and my website is down for the whole day already.

Thanks for leaving your feedback with us. We understand Shopify support has given the impression that the issue you were experiencing with your checkout is related to our app, and the code that we have in your theme.
That same code has been in your theme unchanged since December 2022, and the nature of the issue you are experiencing does not relate to any function Shogun touches on. We've offered to help perform some real troubleshooting and requested collaborator access to have a look and await your reply.

After changing the price plan I can`t update my already published pages anymore. Sorry, but this is behaviour is truly unacceptable...
UPDATE 2024 - although the product is good. The price has unfortunately increased 300-500% ($69 pm to $250-500) to which is beyond excessive. Locked in as have pages built here. Expensive lesson to learn, would avoid.

Shogun is easy to use and we created most pages with it. The service is very good. When we have any questions we always receive support and an friendly answer even on the same day. In many cases, an employee from shogun fixed the problem for us and explained how we could deal with it the next time.
Sometimes, the layout of the preview at shogun looks different then the published page (desktop and mobile). In addition to that, it is not that easy to create a page that looks good on every smartphone.
All in all, Shogun is a very good program for people who would like to create pages very easily. I really recommend it!

I am sorry to hear that you are facing issues with the pricing changes we have had. However, this price changes have been in effect for a while now.
I see your account was installed on our legacy plan that would have stayed if the app was installed. Having said that, when I look at your account I see that Shogun was uninstalled on December 15, 2023 and that removed the legacy plan. Our old plans were deprecated a long time ago and we don't have a way to move you back to them again.
With respect to the price increase, a big part of this is related to significant changes to our product and company. We were a “page builder” for a long time; however, we’ve expanded our offering to include core optimization features, including AB Testing, Targeted Experiences (personalize content to audience), SEO tools for keyword discovery, AI-assisted blog generation, and page performance monitoring.
We have removed page limits for any plan higher than the new Build plan and we have removed the user seat limits which means there are unlimited seats and there are unlimited sections as well.
However, we appreciate your feedback and I am happy to share the same with the team. I see you are in conversation with my colleague and if you have any further questions please do let us know. We'll be happy to answer them for you.

I've used this app for about 5 years, and I've gone from my original 5-star review, to a 3-star review, to a 1-star review. The quality has deteriorated for this app as they've added features, creating new glitches, without improving the fundamental core features that you actually need in an app like this. The support is fast and friendly, but this company needs to just focus on the fundamentals and make a better user experience while actually using the page builder.

Very bad Customer Support. Making a fool of us for last 1 month. Neither doing anything nor admitting that they cannot resolve the problem. Really sad. We are very old user of this app. Earlier we had good experience with the customer support, dont know what happened to them now.
